An immersive show in the public space of Saint-Denis that features stories of migration, resilience, and hope told by local women.
Spaces: Women's Voices is a poetic promenade perfromance born out of the encounter between residents of Saint-Denis and the 93 department, and Saint-Denis based artists—musicians, singers and dancers.
Together, they speak out. They take over the public places that are dear to them and make their stories, their struggles, and their hopes heard. Guided by dance and music, local women recount the origins of their exile, their daily lives in Saint-Denis, and the dreams they have never ceased to hold. Set against the backdrop of their own city, their stories resonate in the spaces around them, as their journey traverses the streets and emblematic sites of Saint-Denis—from Théâtre Gérard Philipe to the Basilica of Saint-Denis—and transforms the city into a living stage.
