We were back at the Avignon festival this summer, where Simón was invited to take part in a round table conversation on July 19, 2025, focused on the theme “Reflections on a ‘New’ Theatre: Immersive, Interactive, Participatory.” The session was organized by CGT Spectacle / National Union of Stage Directors and the Festival of Avignon, and included voices of several leaders in the field of immersive and participatory performance in France (see list of participants here). We look forward to continuing the discussion around ways that cultural institutions can support the creation, production and presentation of innovative forms of live performance in the years to come.
