Valentin Leveau

Creative Producer

Trained in cultural mediation at the Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris, France), at the University of California (Santa Barbara, CA, USA) and at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Valentin Leveau was able to appreciate during his studies the diversity of the ways of seeing, saying and representing the world. Within the french cultural cooperation from 2011 to 2014 (Institut français, Alliance française), he participated with local cultural operators in the building of international networks that enabled artists to move across borders: the Saison Danse Gabon festival (Gabon, France, Congo, Burkina Faso), Transpoesie (with the various european national institutes for culture in Brussels). Then focusing on close collaborations with choreographers, composers and musicians (Emilio Calcagno, Marcel Gbeffa, Fabrice Martinez, Jean-Remy Guédon, Peter Nkoghé, Emmanuelle Brunat, Djamile Mama Gao), he co-directed for 6 years the music company Collectif La Boutique as well as the music and performance venue La Boutique du Val (Meudon, France). Since 2017 he is part of Air Artistes, a coop of artists, producers, venues and sponsors in France, Benin, Congo and Ivory Coast, aiming at creating artistic objects that move across disciplines and borders. Today, as an administrator and creative producer, he shares his time between Le Poulpe, a second-hand shop and cultural venue in La Goutte d’Or (Paris) that centers on reuse & recycle issues, and Kaimera Productions.
